My name is Zakhar Bratyakin, though friends and colleagues know me as Captain Zak.

I’ve been connected to sailing since childhood - my father was a USSR Master of Sport in Sailing. I am the founder of BAZA SAIL TEAM, a community of like-minded adventurers who explore new sailing routes around the world. I organize signature sailing expeditions and serve as an instructor at the Finist Sailing School, teaching under the IYT (International Yacht Training) system. I love the sea and everything connected with it. For me, it’s important that every crew member feels confident, comfortable, and truly enjoys their time under sail. I consider myself a fortunate person because my profession and my passion are one and the same. Sharing that passion with others through unforgettable journeys is what inspires me every day.
